About BNB
BNB is the native asset of BNB Smart Chain, a network that runs the same contracts and tooling as Ethereum at a small fraction of the cost. Blocks come every few seconds, so deposits confirm quickly.
Anything you do on BNB Smart Chain is paid for in BNB, so acquiring some is the prerequisite for using the network at all, in the same way ETH is for Ethereum.
Note the chain distinction: BNB on BNB Smart Chain is not the same as a BEP-20 token representing another asset. Send to an address on the network the payout actually uses.
Sending and receiving BNB
- Set a refund address. It is the only route funds have back to you if a swap cannot complete — a deposit below the minimum, or one arriving after the quote window closed. See refund handling.
