That changes what is economically worth doing on-chain: small transfers and frequent interactions that Ethereum prices out become ordinary again.

The shared address format is the hazard. Your Ethereum address and your Avalanche C-Chain address look identical, and AVAX also exists on Avalanche’s X-Chain and P-Chain with a different format entirely. Make sure the receiving address is a C-Chain address in a wallet configured for Avalanche, not the Ethereum entry for the same key. Then confirm your wallet shows the AVAX balance before you move anything else there.
