About Amp
AMP exists to make a slow payment usable immediately. When someone pays with a network that uses it, AMP is staked as collateral against that payment for the seconds or minutes the underlying transaction takes to confirm; if the payment fails, the collateral covers the merchant. Once it settles, the collateral is released.
That is an unusually narrow purpose for a token, and it is worth understanding because it means the demand for AMP is tied to payment volume on the networks that use it rather than to anything happening on Ethereum generally.
It is an ERC-20, so it settles under Ethereum’s twelve-second blocks and moving it costs ETH. A wallet holding AMP and no ETH cannot send it.
Sending and receiving AMP
- Before you send. AMP settles here as an ERC-20 on Ethereum; the receiving address must be an Ethereum address, and the wallet needs a little ETH to move it afterwards.
- Set a refund address. It is the only route funds have back to you if a swap cannot complete — a deposit below the minimum, or one arriving after the quote window closed. See refund handling.
- Nothing is held for you. Deposits are forwarded, not stored, and the data kept is the amount and the two addresses — purged once the swap finalizes. The full picture is on the privacy page.
AMP exchange pairs
AMP is quotable against anything else we list — every supported coin can be swapped against every other, and the popular routes each have a page of their own.

AMP — common questions
What is the current AMP price?
$0.0004452, from our own rate feed at the time this page was served. It is a reference figure rather than a quote: every swap is re-priced live across our liquidity partners the moment you confirm, and the best receive amount is what the order is created with.
How do I swap AMP without an account?
Pick the pair, enter an amount, and give a destination address and a refund address. There is no registration, no email and no identity check — you send the deposit from your own wallet and the funds are forwarded on. Nothing is held on your behalf at any point.
When is my AMP sent out?
As soon as the deposit has the confirmations the network requires — the exchange runs automatically, with no manual approval step and no queue on our side. You can follow every stage on the tracking page a swap gets the moment it is created.
Is there a minimum AMP amount?
Yes, and it moves with network conditions, so the widget shows the live figure for whichever pair you pick before you confirm. Minimums exist to keep on-chain costs a small fraction of the swap rather than swallowing it. There is no maximum.
Which network does AMP settle on here?
Ethereum, as a ERC-20 token. The same ticker exists on several chains and the versions are not interchangeable — a transfer to an address on the wrong network cannot be recovered by us or by the exchange.
