About The Graph
Reading a blockchain directly is slow and awkward — chains are built to be written to and verified, not queried. The Graph is the network that indexes them into something an application can actually ask questions of, run by independent indexers who stake GRT and are paid in it.
It is infrastructure rather than a product, which is why most people using an application built on it have never heard of it. That is also the investment case and the risk: demand follows how many applications route their queries through the network rather than running their own.
GRT is an ERC-20 on Ethereum, so it settles under Ethereum’s blocks and moving it costs ETH.
Sending and receiving GRT
- Before you send. GRT settles here as an ERC-20 on Ethereum; the receiving address must be an Ethereum address.
- Set a refund address. It is the only route funds have back to you if a swap cannot complete — a deposit below the minimum, or one arriving after the quote window closed. See refund handling.
