About Kaspa
Kaspa is proof-of-work, like Bitcoin, but it does not throw away the blocks that lose a race. Its GHOSTDAG protocol keeps blocks mined in parallel and puts them into a single agreed order afterwards, so the network can produce them far faster than a chain safely could without the orphan rate eating the security.
The practical result is confirmation in seconds on a mined chain — the property proof-of-work is usually assumed to have traded away. The block rate has been raised by hard fork since launch, so treat any fixed figure you read elsewhere as dated.
Kaspa has no smart contracts, no premine and no founder allocation; the ledger is transparent, and addresses are as followable as Bitcoin’s.
Sending and receiving KAS
- Set a refund address. It is the only route funds have back to you if a swap cannot complete — a deposit below the minimum, or one arriving after the quote window closed. See refund handling.
