These are reference figures from our own rate feed, not quotes — every swap is re-priced across our liquidity partners at the moment you confirm, and the best receive amount wins. How that comparison works is on the methodology page.

About NEAR Protocol

NEAR splits its work across shards, so throughput grows by adding them rather than by asking every validator to process everything. Blocks arrive about every second, and a transaction is final within a couple of them — fast enough that the NEAR half of a swap is effectively instant.

Its most visible design choice is the account model. Instead of a hash, a NEAR account can be a readable name — `yourname.near` — with sub-accounts beneath it, which is closer to a domain name than to a Bitcoin address. Accounts are objects on the chain with keys attached, and those keys can be scoped to specific permissions rather than being all-or-nothing.

Readable accounts are a usability win and a privacy cost: a name is memorable to you and equally memorable to anyone watching the chain, and it links activity far more readily than a rotating address would.

Sending and receiving NEAR

  • Before you send. NEAR accounts come in two shapes and both are valid destinations: a named account such as `yourname.near`, and a 64-character hex implicit account. Send to whichever your wallet actually controls — a named account you have not registered is not yours, and a payout to it is not recoverable.
  • Set a refund address. It is the only route funds have back to you if a swap cannot complete — a deposit below the minimum, or one arriving after the quote window closed. See refund handling.
  • Nothing is held for you. Deposits are forwarded, not stored, and the data kept is the amount and the two addresses — purged once the swap finalizes. The full picture is on the privacy page.

NEAR exchange pairs

NEAR is quotable against anything else we list — every supported coin can be swapped against every other, and the popular routes each have a page of their own.

NEAR — common questions

What is the current NEAR price?

$1.86, from our own rate feed at the time this page was served. It is a reference figure rather than a quote: every swap is re-priced live across our liquidity partners the moment you confirm, and the best receive amount is what the order is created with.

How do I swap NEAR without an account?

Pick the pair, enter an amount, and give a destination address and a refund address. There is no registration, no email and no identity check — you send the deposit from your own wallet and the funds are forwarded on. Nothing is held on your behalf at any point.

When is my NEAR sent out?

As soon as the deposit has the confirmations the network requires — the exchange runs automatically, with no manual approval step and no queue on our side. You can follow every stage on the tracking page a swap gets the moment it is created.

Is there a minimum NEAR amount?

Yes, and it moves with network conditions, so the widget shows the live figure for whichever pair you pick before you confirm. Minimums exist to keep on-chain costs a small fraction of the swap rather than swallowing it. There is no maximum.
